On January 23, 2026, the AMBA &amp; BGA Excellence Awards ceremony took place at the Royal Garden Hotel in London - one of the most prestigious events in global business education. MIM Business School's Women Leadership Program (WLP) took first place in the Best Culture, Diversity and Inclusion Initiative category.
The event brought together over 200 leaders from the global business education community, including category finalists, international jury members, and media representatives. Winners were announced across 13 categories recognizing outstanding practice among business schools, students, alumni, employers, and industry partners.
The Best Culture, Diversity and Inclusion Initiative Award – in which MIM Business School won - recognizes institutions that systematically implement and develop practices around culture, diversity, and inclusion.
 
The 2026 shortlist included six finalists:

<li>International Management Institute (MIM-Kyiv),</li>
<li>Business School of Yunnan University of Finance and Economics,</li>
<li>University of Auckland Business School,</li>
<li>IE Business School,</li>
<li>Trinity Business School at Trinity College Dublin</li>
<li> Grenoble Ecole de Management.</li>
</ul>
 
Andrew M. Wilson, CEO of AMBA &amp; BGA, said in his remarks:

"I am delighted to recognize MIM-Kyiv as this year's winner of the Best Culture, Diversity and Inclusion Initiative Award. Your Women Leadership Program shows what it means to nurture inclusive leadership under the most demanding circumstances, supporting women from across Ukraine's regions and sectors during a period of extraordinary challenge. The way you have combined global vision with local realities reflects a deep commitment to genuine impact. This year's entries were exceptional in both quality and ambition. MIM-Kyiv's initiative stood out for the clarity of its purpose and the strength of its results - a compelling example of how business schools can advance social resilience and widen access to leadership opportunities."

The reception in the room was deeply moving: Iryna Tykhomyrova, President of MIM Business School, received a standing ovation that continued long after she began her remarks. That response became a symbol of Ukraine's courage - a country that, even in the hardest of times, keeps defending, working, teaching, and learning.
Accepting the award, Iryna Tykhomyrova said:

"I am deeply grateful to AMBA for this recognition. It highlights the global importance of investing in women's leadership development. For Ukraine, this award carries particular meaning. The war has profoundly reshaped our social and demographic realities - with so many men serving in the Armed Forces, women are taking on an ever-greater share of leadership roles in business, public life, and their communities. This award is a reminder that the future of leadership is deeply human - built on care, dignity, mutual support, and the courage to take responsibility for one another in times of uncertainty. For us, this is not only recognition of the Women Leadership Program - it is a powerful signal of the world's support for Ukraine. We have shown that even in the most difficult conditions of war, we can create educational initiatives that help women build leadership competencies and contribute to the rebuilding of their country."
