Women Leadership Program

On December 19, MIM Business School celebrated the graduation of the second cohort of the Women Leadership Program, a unique educational initiative designed to support and empower women leaders. The program was created to equip Ukrainian women with contemporary knowledge and practical tools for developing their managerial and entrepreneurial capabilities. The Women Leadership Program is delivered jointly by MIM Business School and the leading Swiss business school, the Institute for Management Development (IMD).
Over the course of six months of intensive study, participants explored such themes as women’s leadership, project implementation, business strategy development, planning, and the advancement of operational management.
This year, 17 final projects were presented, compared with 6 last year. Although the projects addressed different areas, they were all united by a shared goal: advancing Ukraine’s recovery. The topics included the mitigation of war-related destruction and waste, youth engagement in renewable energy, the creation of a national online platform for veterans’ resilience, and other initiatives aimed at national recovery.
The project presentations were attended by the program’s Swiss partners: Joshua Clark, Frederik Robert, Matthew Simons, and Knut Haanaes of IMD, as well as Khrystyna Batrukh, President of the Bohdan Havrylyshyn Family Foundation and representative of the Lundin Sustainability Chair.
At the ceremony, the participants were welcomed by Iryna Tykhomyrova, President of MIM Business School:

Over the past two years of this project, we have realized that we want to direct all our attention and resources toward recovery, toward shaping the knowledge, solutions, and plans Ukraine will need. I am convinced that our cooperation is only just beginning. We may not yet know exactly what form it will take, but we do know its direction: to think, to explore, and to act together.
What we are doing today is bold, responsible, and critically important for Ukraine’s future. It is partnerships like these that drive real change. I hope we will remain connected. And I want to express my sincere gratitude to you for being who you are: so inspired and so determined to create something new for Ukraine"

Faculty members from Switzerland and Khrystyna Batrukh also joined in offering their congratulations and reflections.
The event continued with a panel discussion dedicated to global trends in women’s leadership in Ukraine and around the world, including the barriers, stereotypes, and inner doubts that prevent women from believing in themselves and fully unlocking their potential. The discussion was moderated by Nadiia Omelchenko, a faculty member at MIM Business School and the Women Leadership Program.
Not all participants were able to join in person, but they were with us online. The event concluded with the ceremonial presentation of certificates and warm informal conversation.

Mr. Voronov was teaching project management and spoke about prototype testing. At the time, I thought: why would I, as someone from the humanities, ever need to know about prototypes? And then, not long afterward, I found myself working on the topic of drones, while colleagues were talking about testing prototypes, and that was when I remembered our lecturer with real gratitude.
So I truly believe we received this knowledge for a reason. All of it will find practical application.
And, you know, this was the first time in my life that I had received something through a grant. I am sincerely grateful for that opportunity.”

“I wanted to join this program last year, but at the time I was studying in London and knew I would not be able to manage two programs at once. This year, I applied, and halfway through the program I faced a personal hardship: my grandfather was hospitalized, and I began making constant trips to see him, during which I twice found myself under UAV attack. It was difficult, both emotionally and physically.
But my grandfather kept asking me specifically about this program, how it was going, and how my final project was progressing. My studies in the program meant a great deal to him.
He is no longer with us... But I dedicate this certificate and this achievement to him. Because he always used to say: ‘Katia, women should rule the world!”
