The goal is to draw global attention to Ukraine, a nation suffering from war. We seek to share the stories of towns and villages that have experienced occupation and conflict and to highlight the ongoing hardships Ukrainians have faced since February 2022. Each day of resistance comes at a significant cost.
The "I'm Fine" installation, featured at the 2024 BURNING MAN festival in the United States, has already gained coverage from major media outlets worldwide. This installation, constructed from damaged road signs, street signs, and fence fragments, serves as a poignant representation of the war's impact. However, showcasing the installation at the festival is just the first step in amplifying Ukraine’s voice globally.
On September 13, during MIM's 35th-anniversary event, Artur Malinowski (former Head of PR at Postmen, Hoshva PR&amp;DGTL, and "PHOENIX" BURNING MAN 2023, and now Head of Global PR &amp; Communication for the "I'm Fine" installation at BURNING MAN 2024) will discuss cultural diplomacy through the lens of the installation. The ideologist and driving force behind this project is Vitaly Deinega, an MBA graduate of MIM Business School.

As a reminder, we are raising funds to purchase mini-dome car radar detectors for the air reconnaissance crews of the 411th Separate Battalion of the "Yastrub" UAV. How I’m Fine Campaign Brings People Together by the Stories

On September 5, the Verkhovna Rada appointed Natalia Kalmykova, a current MBA student at MIM, as the Minister of Veterans Affairs.
Before this, she served as the Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine and previously led the Ukrainian Veterans Fund. Earlier in her career, Natalia was the head of the military department at the Come Back Alive Competent Assistance Foundation, a role she held from June 2017 to January 2021. Following that, she served as a gender adviser to the Commander of the Land Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine from June to November 2021.
We extend our best wishes to Natalia for a successful and impactful tenure in her new role!

Natalia Kalmykova, MIM student Appointed the Minister of Veterans Affairs

The Ukrainian Witness media project, founded by MIM MBA graduate Vitaliy Deynega, will present a new installation titled I'm Fine at the world-renowned Burning Man 2024 contemporary art festival. The annual event takes place in the Black Rock Desert, Nevada, USA.
The piece, measuring 32 meters long, 7 meters high, and weighing over 10 tons, was created by Ukrainian artist Oleksiy Sai in collaboration with Deynega. The installation is composed of war artifacts—mangled and bullet-riddled street signs, solar panels, satellite dishes, destroyed city signs, and broken fences.
"People stand and watch. Sometimes for a very long time. The braver ones touch the sharp edges. Many cry. It seems our idea resonated, and tens of thousands of people will hear our message here. Our absolutely absurd reality has become normal for us; we’ve learned to be strong and to celebrate life, even in these circumstances. We’re becoming less reactive to missiles and death, to the grief and the extraordinary efforts it takes not to lose our minds from fear and guilt. We are 'normal,' but our normal is more terrifying than nightmares. Yet we live, we fight, and we even try to be happy sometimes. We’re 'okay.' We're even ready to sincerely ask the world, 'How are you?'" Deynega shared his reflections.
Ukrainian military DJ Tapolsky will support the installation’s presentation at Burning Man, performing a set that incorporates the voices of Ukrainians responding to the question, "How are you?"
"I’ve always felt that music is my native language, and through it, I want to remind the world of the unyielding spirit and resilience of Ukrainians, who answer 'I'm Fine' when asked about the harsh reality they face—continuing their lives despite the fragility of their war-torn surroundings," Tapolsky commented.
Symbolically, the first photos of the installation appeared the morning after a large-scale attack on energy facilities, when Ukrainians once again said, "I'm fine," and carried on with their routines. "One American said there was so much grief and death in our installation that it was unbearable, and they cried. Another said it radiated strength because if we were victims, not warriors, we wouldn’t have brought it here," Deynega added.

Reintegration Management Program

Community building and networking are significant benefits that MIM alumni enjoy. An example of this is the collaboration between Oleksandra Lyashenko and Ihor Stepurin, students of the Reintegration Management Program, whose acquaintance led to a joint project. Together, they planned a meetup in Kyiv focused on science and the role of research during wartime, particularly how it contributes to science diplomacy. The event will feature discussions with Ukrainian polar explorers, highlighting their journey from scientific work to the frontlines, the significance of international cooperation, and related topics.
Discussing the motivation to study and potentially work in government agencies in de-occupied territories, Ihor Stepurin emphasizes that the humanitarian aspect is as crucial as economic and industrial development. With his extensive experience as a publisher and in partnerships, Ihor believes that his skills will be valuable in the post-occupation period. He enrolled in the Reintegration Management Program to enhance his knowledge and expand his leadership toolkit.
“I am from the Kherson region, so the reintegration of territories after de-occupation is extremely important to me. While Kherson was under enemy control, we volunteered and worked tirelessly for its liberation. I visited the city right after its de-occupation on November 19, 2023. Unfortunately, part of the region is still occupied. I believe that my knowledge and experience in the humanitarian field will be needed,” says Ihor Stepurin.
The Reintegration Management Program is jointly implemented by MIM Business School and the Mission of the President of Ukraine in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, with support from the Office of the President of Ukraine. This initiative is made possible with support from the USAID Ukraine Confidence Building Initiative (UCBI) project.

Ihor Stepurin, RMP Participant: I Am Sure That My Skills Will Be Useful after the De-Occupation

The MBA program at MIM offers more than just a business program; it opens a world of opportunities. Dmytro Pindyurin, founder and CEO of Digital Standard and a 2023 graduate, shares his experience, highlighting how the MBA program broadens horizons, fosters unique business connections, and enhances self-confidence. He underscores the importance of networking, the business school's reputation, and the knowledge acquired, all of which have been pivotal to his professional growth.
“Firstly, an MBA at MIM provides new insights and helps organize information into a structured system of knowledge and skills. Secondly, it offers invaluable networking opportunities. When you begin the program, you find yourself surrounded by 30-40 interesting individuals—highly skilled professionals who often share your values and interests. This is incredibly important, and it’s hard to find another way to instantly build such a fascinating community around you.
Moreover, during my studies, I formed several business partnerships with my classmates, which was a pleasant surprise. Thirdly, the brand of a business school is crucial within the Ukrainian business community.
In my experience, candidates with an MBA from MIM have an edge because it’s well-known that the program features strong faculty and a rigorous approach to training, including the thesis defense.
In summary, my MBA journey has taught me three key lessons: it significantly boosts self-esteem, provides a systematic approach to knowledge and skills, and facilitates new connections. And, of course, I earned a diploma that is recognized not only in Ukraine but also globally.”

Nadiia Omelchenko’s Top 5 Videos for Inspiring Women's Leadership

Diana Sakovych lives in Rivne and works for the NGO Southern Development Strategy. She is originally from Oleshky in the Kherson region, which has been under occupation since the beginning of the full-scale invasion. As a result of the explosion of the Kakhovka Hydroelectric Power Station her town was flooded. Despite the sad news surrounding Oleshky for the past two and a half years, Diana believes that it will not always be this way and that Oleshky will eventually be de-occupied. When that happens, she plans to return and contribute to its rebuilding and restoration.
To prepare for this, Diana decided to study in the <a href="https://rmp.mim.kyiv.ua/">Reintegration Management Program</a>, jointly implemented by MIM Business School and the Mission of the President of Ukraine in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, with assistance from the Office of the President of Ukraine.
"I found out about the program from our project manager, who suggested I attend. I reviewed the course topics and studied some on my own, but I wanted a more in-depth understanding, so I was happy to join the training. There will be many challenges in the de-occupied territories, and we need teams of qualified professionals to address them. I am determined to return to Oleshky and work on rebuilding and restoring my community," explains Diana, who has prior experience in local government and views this training as an opportunity to enhance her skills.

MIM’s Program for the State Enterprise Scientific and Technical Center for Nuclear and Radiation Safety Kicked Off on the Knowledge Day

This year's Knowledge Day fell on Monday, September 2. On this symbolic day, MIM Business School launched a corporate program for the State Scientific and Technical Center for Nuclear and Radiation Safety. The center’s activities focus on enhancing the safe operation of nuclear facilities, managing spent nuclear fuel and radioactive waste, and raising public awareness of nuclear technologies.
At MIM, corporate programs are tailored to meet client needs, addressing specific management challenges. In this instance, the training will emphasize key aspects of management and leadership. The program participants will develop their skills in effective team management and strategic decision-making through the Everest business simulation, developed by Harvard Business School.
We warmly welcome our new students to the MIM community and wish them many valuable insights throughout their training journey!
