On choosing MIM. Early 2022 was complete chaos. I had to restructure my business and shift to a different direction entirely. Around that time, I subscribed to MIM Business School's mailing list and was struck by what I saw: they were hosting live online sessions with the global names whose books I had been reading - Osterwalder, Kotler, Snyder. Not recordings, but live conversations where you could ask questions. That was my first strong impression.
What ultimately convinced me to enroll was Markstrat. It is a computer simulation that has had millions of dollars invested in it. When I realized that leading business schools like INSEAD and Harvard use it, I understood: this is a top-tier tool, and this is where I need to be.
On studying. It is the chance to structure your knowledge. Did I discover something entirely new? Probably not. But I got a clear structure. When you listen to a lecturer or talk with peers, insights you already had suddenly click into place: "Oh, I can actually implement this in my business. Oh, this is something I should offer a client"! A separate achievement was the final project. I wrote a marketing plan for the mining industry on LinkedIn - not something produced just to tick a box, but work that reflects what I do every day, now backed by MIM's expert guidance and tested hypotheses. I developed it step by step, on my own, and that approach is what structures knowledge best.
On the faculty. In Natalia Bukhalova's lectures I absorbed every word. I still use her presentation as a reference. She gave me a genuinely practical insight into overseas marketing research - how to analyze the US market even when you are based in Ukraine. Pure applied knowledge.
On community as the core value. The lasting impression MIM leaves is the community. People who get it in a space where that is shared. Eighty percent of our behavior is shaped by our environment, and it matters to me to be around people with similar values and ambitious goals. MIM consistently organizes events where the most productive networking happens - connections that form in an intimate setting where you can actually get to know someone, have a real conversation, and find your way to shared projects.
Serhiy's advice. Do not be afraid to focus. When a business is small, it seems like you can do everything for everyone. But Markstrat taught me: every product needs to be precise, niche, and built for a specific audience. The better you understand your client, the higher the loyalty and the margin.
