It took MBA graduate Volodymyr Bukharin, who heads the Sugar Beet Department at KWS-Ukraine, ten years to decide to enroll in MIM. "If I were asked for advice, I would say that the sooner you start, the better, and you don't have to waste ten years thinking about it, as I did," says Volodymyr Bukharin, who graduated at the end of 2023.
He chose MIM among other business school because he had been familiar with MIM macroeconomics teacher Mykhailo Kukhar for several years. He gradually accumulated reviews of other teachers and eventually decided to "dig deeper" and pursue his studies.
"My desire to get an MBA degree is based on two reasons. First, it's prestigious, and second, it helps in career development. From an applied point of view, I wanted to develop certain skills in economics and strategy, and I achieved this during my studies. The lectures of the Strategic Management course were very interesting and useful: they were pragmatic and specific, and the lecturer, Viacheslav Pokotylo, did his best to teach us how to think strategically," recalls Volodymyr Bukharin.
According to him, some parts of the program overlapped with the knowledge and experience he learned while working. However, when you disconnect from what you knew before and fully immerse yourself in the learning process, you gain a new perspective on familiar things, seeing and understanding them differently.
"If you study for an MBA at MIM, you will make new acquaintances and experience a team atmosphere in the group. You will develop a new personal network and engage in valuable socializing. Watching your classmates think and offer solutions during case discussions or business simulations is highly valuable. For me personally, the opportunity to learn from others has become a great asset," adds Volodymyr Bukharin.
He also highlighted the course on operational management, which "opened up greater horizons on the topic of risks, allowing me to make decisions faster and avoid wasting time at critical moments." Most importantly, the knowledge gained can be immediately implemented in work processes, improved, and adapted, Volodymyr shares.
